Classification, constructive play, and working with a variety of textures through puzzles, shapes, block building, sensory and imaginary play, are all in our indoor and outdoor classrooms. All children will develop at their own pace in a loving and supportive atmosphere. Mathematics will be explored through measuring and counting items. Children were created to learn skills in their own time, when they are not pressured, and language is one example. As a child begins to show interest, our staff supports this interest by teaching letter sounds and blending sounds to build words. We have daily story time in our outdoor classrooms to encourage language development. Art is one of our favorite school activities as children come alive working with pastels, clay, paint, water colors, playdough, sand, and more.
Our half day nature based program offers indoor and outdoor experiences with an emphasis on outdoor center and exploration. Research has proven for decades that spending time outdoors in nature benefits children in numerous ways. A few benefits are enhancing critical thinking and problem solving, supports discovery, creativity and exploration as well as the whole child.
